It is very discouraging for sure that the weather pattern never seems to stabilize; front after front keeps coming and that the winds continue to howl day after day. I have been on the water only about eight or nine times this year. Twice I was blown off the water and at least four or more other times I was forced to fish areas or use tactics other than where I wanted to because of the wind. I guess it's the nature of the beast when it comes to outdoor sports of any kind... but geeze... this year has been a rough and unpredictable one so far for getting on the water and fishing the way you want to... to say the least. Hopefully things will settle in soon.

My "home" lake in N Ga is the same, Randy, except I think it is up to 66F now, or was until this cold front hit. In middle GA the bedding is on, but not yet up here. Lows tomorrow in the low 40s. When it finally turns on, I bet it is going to be epic.

The April full moon saw a small redear spawn in central Arkansas. A few bluegill were starting to mull around the shallows as well. Then we had a cold snap and they all moved out. The May full moon has been unreal around here. Unfortunately for me, I have had to work the last 11 days in a row and have to work tomorrow as well. We are relating the boat trails on my home lake and have hired a contractor to cut stumps in the trail under water. After an 11 hour day of physical work, it is tough to get motivated to fish sometimes. Last weekend, the local bait shop sold out of crickets, red worms, wax worms, and even minnows. They just got restocked today. From the talk I have heard and by how full the parking lots have been, anglers have been wearing out the bluegill and redear around here. I guess missing the action due to work is just as bad as missing the action due to crappy weather.

Same ordeal in lots of places it seems.Crappie spawn taking a hard hit, cold temps, much rain and flooding on many of our lakes ( most are creek fed).I’ve had to cover my grape vineyard several times in the past few weeks, gotta do it again the next few nights.........I’m gonna find that lousy groundhog and put him outta my misery !

It seems either the wind is blowing, raining or cold just not good fishing conditions. I need some warmth and sunshine.

I got about 20 minutes of fishing in this evening before the wind and rain picked up to a level beyond my desire to fish. Supposed to almost get to freezing the next few nights. It was 86 here last Saturday. Snowing in PA. Crazy stuff.
