Exactly what I thought. Now time to find a replacement.

I like the G loomis trout rods. Find them to be light and sensitive. Good many shops will give 20‰ to 30‰ off of G loomis rods if you call them. Just got a G Loomis TSR791S for $190.

Where did you get that rod for $190. I see them advertised for $410 fir the GLX. I guess the GL2 is cheaper

Don't give up on that rod. I believe all you need is the right reel so the combo is balanced. Take it with you when shopping for a reel and mount some reels with the rod until you find one that feels right. Probably just need a bigger reel. I bought my first Loomis Premier ultralight in the mid 80's and I still use it even though I have five JDM rods.

I have fished with G. Loomis S781 IMX for 30 years now. Was fishing 2# and 4# mono on them. Purchased them as blanks and built the rod. My reel choice was Diawa SS 700's. Can't buy them any more since Shimano bought out G. Loomis years ago. They are super UL rods.
