Default 1/64 oz Jig the Pumpkinseed slammer

Well, I made it out yesterday with a fishing buddy and had no luck for the larger gamefish, bass and/or pike. So as I was working the bank with the trolling motor. I noticed a big high spot in front of the boat, 1-2 FOW there were some nice gills sunning themselves.
So I try on a new THE Jig, 1st red/white combo that Keith has tied. And boy-o-boy as soon as that little jig hit the water, 3 gills bull rushed it and the winner was.

So I snuck back up on them, without using a bobber with these little jigs. I could only throw it about 10 feet from the boat, BUT that is all it took. I fished the out skirts of the sunning fish not to spook them. And was rewarded by another sweet pumpkinseed.

The colors are just awesome! Once I finally could get THE Jig close enough for the sunners to see it, they would just firey swim over and inhale this little jig.

My buddy tied to use a little slip bobber to gain some casting distance, BUT in 1-2 FOW the bobber was spooking the fish so on down the bank we went. While heading back to the boat launch, my buddy was pulling along a THE orange/char JIG and all of a sudden, his bobber disappeared to yeild this sweet crappie.

Now, looky looky, the jig was just bearly hooked inside of the paper mouth.

There was no pulling this fish into the boat. I had to go over the side and grab and the crappie, no net yesterday being 1st time out in the boat. But, as soon as I got home, I put the big net and little net in the boat.

    If it's wet, it's catch'n!

Thats cool, this jig put over 50+ fish in the boat yesterday with out even looking worn, beat-up, or even lost a hair. But I've also never used or seen grizzly Jigs, everyone has a favorite. Just trying something new, I don't normally use a 1/64oz or smaller. I'm truly a little tubejig guy at heart. But, I'm open new doors and trying new things, everyday is a learning experiance on the water.

As for the camera, I don't know, it was my buddy's set up. And it is a nice looking camera.

they are some nice looking jigs. But they don't have a triple eye and how long do they last? Can you caught over 200 fish in it with out it getting beat up or having the thread come apart on ya? Plus, I've never used feathers either, so all you feather loves, sorry the hairjig isn't for you.

Sure! In 30+ years of jig fishing, I've never had a jig "come apart", no matter who tied it or what it was made of. I've lost a lot of jigs to snags but never to poor workmanship.

    Default Yours last longer!

camofish- I'll conceed that the grizz jigs will not last that long. In fact I have had problems w/ tie strings comming undone to the point that I overlay them w/ 5 min. epoxy. The feathers do last well though.
I'm always open to different ideas, so will order a few of the type you use.
Thanks again for sharing the great photos, Mike

Thanks for the awesome post Camo.you are seeing some durability in T.H.E. Jig.
I will say there's no need to get in a tissey over who ties what.
    A jig is a jig is a jig,well maybe.
I do some extra things that make mine what they are.
I'm sure everyone else who ties feels strongly about what they do.

I could make a lengthy argument ,but to what end.A nasty argument that makes everyone involved look foolish.

Early on I had been admonished for making posts that looked like infomercials.
I basically stopped mentioning the jig so as to not make other upset.
I have witnessed others talk about this maker or that jig maker and how well they worked.
That's so cool to see and because of the comments there are others who are new to tying that want to try.
I think that's what we should be doing.
So Camo throws something out and his post becomes derailed.
Why can't we be glad he had a great day fishing? That's a rhetorical question.

I am not looking to fight nor sell my jig to anyone here.
Sure if you want to try them they are there for you ,but I have plenty of business without having to push them here.

I'm saying this with a soft voice being ever so mindfull of treading lightly without pointing fingers to be hurtfull.

so in the end I'm glad you had fun Wayne.By the by,Rick & I went out tonight and drilled 100 crappies ,gills and bass.
We tossed everyone back.I took a few photos too.

We had a blast rearing and we saw a great sunset on the way out.
