    Default Fishing paddle tail plastic?

Question about how you fish sliders or other plastics. Do you just swim them slowly back to you or do you impart a action during the retrieve? My only experience with these baits was saltwater fishing with much larger tails, where you just cast and swim them back to you. Also fishing road runner type baits what retrieve options do you use?

I don't use paddle tails much, but I fish 'em like everything else: just swim back slowly.

Slow retrieve is all you need to do. Count down to the depth you want and begin to retrieve slow.

Slow steady retrieve and you'll catch plenty.

Try both, most times I use a slow steady retrieve if the bait already has a tail. With a Trout Magnet, no curly or paddle tail, I use a twitching method. I do know that White Bass prefer the erratic twitching and actually a jerky type retrieve, the sudden action makes them think the bait is about to get away. Taught many a person fishing from the bank that an aggressive retrieve for the line sides will flat put them in the bucket. Good luck and report back what works for your neck of the woods.

90% of the time .just like curly tails . Steady and slow . If that does not work slowdown . After that put first finger extended so line hits and gives erratic action .

The only lure design I would use with a steady retrieve would be #2 - curly tail grub, especially when rigged on a Beetle Spin:

The others when using a light ball head jig are paused, let drop, pull forward with rod tip, repeat after reeling in slack. The Kut Tail, short Slider Worm and Flip Tail Worm and no-tail grubs do well with that retrieve.

The wacky rigged mini-sticks shown use more of a vertical presentation and are either twitched in place or allowed to freely drop to the bottom.
