These guys are heading you in the right direction . I like the following baits . #1 = 1 inch black sliders , #2 = Fle-fly go go minnow in perfect pearl .#3= Trout magnet in bison and meal worm colors .#4 = Mr. twister in a 2 inch teenie curly tail white .I fish all these on various colors of 1/32 road runner or pony heads from lite wire hooker (on site ). On rare occasions I will use a float in really mossy lakes on a 1/80 or 1/ 64 head (usually trout magnet ) tipped with a meal worm , cricket, or red worm . I am going to get one of the TCB rods and 2 lb. line soon . I know I will like it . problem is I have so much line in 4 lb . bulk it is hard to buy more . lol

VaCrappieMan, Thank you. I will look into that SOS line.

Eagle 1, Thank you for the lure type suggestions. Sounds like I was on the right track but really needed to down size in everything; lure size, rod selection, and line.

trypam1, thank you for the welcome!

    Regards,

    Leo

    Update:

Today, I order the Trout Slayer Series rod from Trout Magnet along with their 2lb SOS line. Ordered some extra magnets too.

Also order some stinger shad bodies from southern pro; placed a small order of replace beetle spin bodies in 1" and 1.5" size just to experiment with which size jig heads they work best with.

Also order some road runner jig heads in 1/32 and 1/16 oz, both in chartreuse, and white colors; and some unpainted jig heads in 1/32 & 1/16 oz. Just for the heck of it, I ordered two kastmaster spoons in 1/12 oz size since I like them.

So we will see how things work this season once we can get back out and fish again.

Did I miss anything? Or anything that you found works really well with bluegills? or the crappies?

Thanks for all your input and help!

Well that certainly sounds like you've got a good start. I think you will be very happy with all your purchases. Just need to get to the water. Good luck!

I'll assume you already have hooks and sinker shots.

It never hurts to tip your jig hook with a small piece of Gulp Waxies or something similar. I believe that I catch more fish when I have added a scent attractant like this.
