I liked the XL as well. Still have some old 6lb on one of my heavier rods. Over the last 2 years I have headed to the lighter lines. This year I have 2 lb Stren crappie (close to 4 lb test), and sunline Trout Wild in 3 lb. Looking forward to trying the Japanese line. I think it is worth experimenting a little.

I think Trilene XL, Stren Crappie and Leland SOS are the best "non-JDM" lines available. In 2#, the XL is the thinnest of the three at .13mm.

I was really impressed with it. Easy to see above water. Zero tangles or air knots. Used it dipping for awhile and it handle some pretty good tugs. Hangs not fish. The fish weren't cooperating. But the ones I caught the bite really showed up.

How does Viscious Panfish compare to those non JDM lines you listed?
