Default It’s been that kind of week.

I headed to Normandy Tailrace to catch some trout on the Fine Tail Banshee. When I left the house the flow was 220CFS. By the time I drive the 35 miles the flow had gone to 5000 CFS.....flooding the parking area and picnic tables.....no fishing for me. Decided to try to launch boat at Nickajack the next day....nope...the flow was over 154,000 CFS. Went back to bank fish Thursday and did not get a tap. I had ordered a rod from Japan on the 17th...wondered why it hadn’t shipped.....should have already had it. Then I get this email.

“I'm sorry that the delivery has been delayed.
Japan is confused, but we will ship the goods on Monday.
    Thank you.”

Well I guess it is a little confusing here too. Going to try it all again Monday.

    Regards

Too much rain. Too much wind. Too much isolation. Looking forward to better days......I hope!

Have you checked out that smaller lake you caught some good redear from the bank last year? I seem to remember a video of you bank fishing a smaller “local” lake and catching a few good shellcrackers.

Haven’t been down there yet. It’s full of big shell cracker....I’ve caught tons in the 11-12 inch range. Funny thing about that lake. When I tell you there are literally thousands in there that’s a fact....but they seem to congregate in a small area on the lake. That area can change as often as day to day. Funny how even on a small body of water you have to do a lot of hunting.

    Regards

I remember the flooding there in the picture. I usually got nothing or found it flooded when I had time to go. Now above that on the rip rap was a different story. Sorry that you couldn’t scratch the itch, tough times always work on my comfort level too.

The delay might not be the shipper's fault. A fishing rod is going to come by air mail - in the cargo hold of a commercial airliner. Not many commercial flights these days. Even if they "ship" it on Monday, it might not be on a flight on Monday. I am sure there is a huge backlog of cargo that is waiting for planes. I have a big box of stuff supposedly inbound that should have been here days ago. I have an EMS tracking number but it isn't even in the USPS system yet so no way to track it.
