a friend of mine decided 4 years ago it would be a good idea to put both white and black crappie in his 4 acre farm pond dispite several peoples advice of not to do that. well now he needs a little help with population control. i was happy to ablidge.

no doubt. i had my 6'10" blue current tz and my 6'9" lunakia with 2lb sos. it really didn't matter what was tied on to it.
I know a 39 year old little boy who is willing to help as well!

some of the worst advice is given out all the time on what can do well in what pond and when .

When in TN a few years back I spoke with a biologist about pond size and crappie. He spoke of the health and fertility of the pond and a few other things. He said that with all things being average for them to do anything close to well he wouldn’t advise putting crappie in anything less than 100 acres, and at that there would have to be a regular harvest. He said that they would definitely overpopulate and stunt with few being bigger than about 8”. Many years would pass before that would happen. He spoke of folks trying many things to control their numbers but several had just killed off the pond and started over without crappie in the mix.
All that being said, I wish I was closer to offer my services to your friend for his problem.
