KABOOM is the word!!!! Congrats!!!
Yep on fire they was …..
What where and why I have no clue and they were on crappie beds with bluegills this early in the year best I know is not something I quite have an answer to . bluegills shouldn't have been up that shallow and I have no clue what all the big shiners were doing in that spot either ?
managed about 10 each before a really cold front blew in and made me leave .
But to be sure it was festival of ketchn and even though my intended target species was crappie I still had a good time ketchn big swim baits
KABOOM is the word ….
p.s. 1/32 number 6 black and chart on an orange head for shiners is a good start about 2 foot under a float in 3 foot of water with a white crappie nibble .
and once I was sure there wasn't any crappie in that spot I went to just a nibble on the bare jig head

Pretty cool! I hear that they fish big shiners like that down in Florida for huge bass.

Awesome as always Ketchn. KABOOM!!!
D10 I've seen a video of guys feeding bass in pond with shiners that big and they just blast them!! Very impressive.
Cool! I catch a shiner occasionally while panfishing, but never have caught more than one or two on any given day.
Stripers love em!

Nice Gills, I am not sure we have many of those Golden things in our waters, Gizzard Shad here mainly, and they will stretch a drag nicely, but not a fish for the table....ours are very slimy.

Nice Gills. We have a TWRA Lake that is only 80 acres. It has Cherokee bass and huge largemouth.....what is the forage to keep them happy.....golden shiner. I’ve been out there when they would have a die off in the summer. The banks would be lined with dead ones and the stench is horrible.

I imagine they were stocked in there a year or so ago as I know the new management on the lake is clueless and has stocked fish recently .
They have so many shad in there already you can darn near walk on the water over them .
And yes sir they have yearly dieoffs and it turns into a stink of stinks .
the shad were in a dieoff when we got there that day as a matter of fact for whatever reason ?
watched a bunch float by barely moving and saw quite a few along the bank along with more varieties of fish birds in huge numbers than you can imagine
heck the south end of the lake had a billion buzzards on the shoreline too ….
