Buddy had a 4 foot version of that quantum that he used to trout fish with... he sure did have a blast with it but most of the time he would lose the bigger trout... boy was that rod flimsy... I think a JDM sul would be a lot of fun for sure...

I have 3 Quantum xtra-lites - 2 I bought a few years back 4ft 6" weight is 1.8 oz fast tip split grip foam, 1 I got off ebay for $28 shipped, 6ft 6" 2 piece weighs 2.4 oz fast tip - cheap China rods for the money - the 2 short rods are my favorite dock rods.

My first ul was a Browning silaflex. Active part of that word is flex. It did a lot of that and protested at a 1/16 or heavier. Action was so different from what we use today, very soft in the middle and lower portion of the rod. Kinda think it would rate as one of the sul or xxl ratings used today. Too many years ago to have any hope of ever finding one, I’m sure, but it lit my UL fire.
