JDM rods come with warranties, but it’s NOT as easy as dealing with an American company. Alphahawk has discussed this in some of his posts.
Personally, I don’t care about warranties.
You guys are about to cause me to spend some more money on this problem I have with fishing. I have been doing lots of reading on rods, reels and line. I have 3 pretty good reels and rods already. The reels are Shimano Stradic C-14+ and two rods are the St. Croix panfish and the other is a G Loomis trout, think it’s a GLX, all are UL Rods. I have broke the St.Croix (my fault) and was able send it back for exchange or upgrade for a Cost (don’t remember how much).
My question is if you break a JDM rod can it be sent back and have the same type of exchange as StCroix, G Loomis or do you just have a high dollar broke rod?

On my videos I tell folks if you are concerned about a rod warranty JDM gear is not for you. I have known a couple of folks.....through forums.....who have returned a rod and received a new one. But this is rare and you have the shipping expense. Chris over at Finesse Fishing has rod warranty service on his high end rods. Best I remember the cost is minimal. The warranty though is for one year...one shot....one time. I have broken 2 rods....cried a little bit....then went online and ordered the replacement top section. It is not a good feeling but this is part of owning JDM gear. The 2 rods that broke were because of stupidity and not because of poor workmanship. One can get a replacement top for nearly all JDM rods sold. The tops are not cheap but better than having to pay for complete rod.
