Curious as to what pound test...type, and brand of line you are using to cast 1/24th? How far do you want to cast?

If I could offer one piece of jig fishing advice (to anyone), it would be this: lose the float.

I will be using 6# suffix 832 braid
.002 diameter.

For most reasons I do agree and for the other reasons I still don't disagree. But in this instance the bobber is only along for the ride it is not pinned or has a set stop position.

Maybe a good idea, if you can keep the jig down, and not wanting to come back up through the slip float when you're working it.

I am not familiar with the particular line you're using....but years back I tried every 2# test braid on the market to gain extra cast distance fishing a 1/64th Trout Magnet. Nothing really worked out until I tried NanoFil. I could cast a long way with that stuff. The point here is if I can cast a 1/64 TM jig head 54 feet using polyester line and over 60 feet using a 2# test nylon line with a diameter of .128mm you should be able to cast a 1/24 further than that. I agree with Disco about losing the float. What rod are you using to cast with?
