Default Got to play around today

The wife had to work today so I took the girls to a local pond. Weapons of choice were the 6’9” Tict Ice Cube Rockin Finesse and 2004 Daiwa Luvias. Had the luvias spooled up with 2.5 lb ester sunline. I tossed a 1 gram daiwa jighead and used a few different trout magnet colors (bison, gainer, and root beer). Caught around 20 in around 40 minutes time. The girls couldn’t handle anymore than that. The 3 year old is old enough to fish but hard for me to handle a 3 and 1 year old by myself at waters edge so stroller was in use. I had a good time and they did as well. The pond doesn’t have any crappie in it and the gills were only up to 8” but it was still fun... a few pics for your enjoyment...

Great pics. The Ice Cube is a fun rod to fish with. Had a gentleman call me yesterday that I had recommend the Ice Cube to. I had not heard back from him about how he like the rod and it had been a year. He just called to let me know how great he thought the rod was.

    Regards

That’s a good day in anyone’s book. You did much better than I did in three times the amount of time you spent. Good job Daddy!

Great report, this warm weather is crazy, 74 degrees today and sunshine. Looks like the pond bite is on. 8 inch Gills with two little ones in tow, that is a feat in itself. I have been wrangling two grand babies all week and Santa Claus brought first bicycles, both in pink of course. That Sunline Night Blue (UV) Ester is great on the JDM rods, is that what you were using?

    Thanks guys!

Yes, the 2.5lb sunline night blue is what I was using. Some parts of it towards the tip were curling up some but it never hurt anything. Do you have the 2.5lb in it? I am placing an order to Plat tonight and thinking of getting some more lines to try. I am not a fan of the high vis line so it’s hard finding something to try... I do want to try some pink for the fun factor. I need some more daiwa jigheads. I did try a shimano soare draghead jighead today... down right odd little jig and I wasn’t a fan. I really enjoy the daiwa jigheads and my dad likes them a lot so I have given him several packs and after stocking my jig box I am a little low. Need to find a drop shot rod as well that will handle up to 1/4oz and would prefer JDM...
