    Default Round Two

Of course I just had to go back and stick some more Panfish this afternoon, hard to resist the feel of the Thump. Tonight I remembered my measuring device, or truth board as I like to call it, and got to use it repeatedly.

The White Bass were stacked in the shallows once again tonight, and landing 14-14.5in fish on 2lb test line off the bank is no easy feat. I got broke off twice tonight from bone jarring strikes, and I feel sure it was from the aforementioned line sides. Bluegill are always my intended target, and they were being very finicky tonight, short striking (pecking) at the bait with the rat a tat tat machine gun bite. I did manage to stick an even dozen, with the biggest going a little over 8in.

I will take 8in Gills all day long on UL tackle. Like last night, the Crappie moved in right at dark and 2 nice keepers thumped the Sowbug TM with authority.

The creek bite is on, and I may ease back down there tomorrow afternoon for Round 3.

Congrats again! I fished Nickajack today....where just a little while back had around 200 Gills. Today...nothing.....not even a tap. No white bass to be found. The only thing showing on sonar were a whole lot of trash fish....beautiful day though....LOL.

    Regards

Hate to here those fish are gone, mine have just moved in and I hope they stay for a while. Been thinking about staying after dark and throwing some small glow plastics.....Just feel like the limitations of the small diameter lines in having the possibility of needing to re tie or untangle a rod tip twist would be difficult at night even with a good light. My eyes are not what they used to be and I do not have a portable Blacklight to use the UV Ester.

That looks like a great time. I would love to catch some white bass, we don't have them out here.

They literally stack up by the hundreds here, and in the shallow waters (<5ft) I could actually feel my line hitting their backs.

That was a good catch. I’m not getting much in the creeks around here, at least not that I can find.
