Nope folks.....its not spring. But I boated around 175 bluegill.....shell cracker.....bluegill-shellcracker cross today. Also had a few crappie and some spotted bass. There had to be a thousand bluegill in the grates at the dead lock today. It was an awesome 5 hours of catching. All fish caught on Major Craft 2018 Fine Tail 6 3 super ultra light rod....strung up with 2.1# test polyester line. I used a Daiwa Gekkabijin 2 gram jig head #10 hook dressed with what else....a Bison colored Trout Magnet. Most of the bluegill were 8-8.5 inches long with many of the cross breeds going 9-9.5 inches. The fish have certainly had on the feed bag. Life is good!

You are trying your best to “Sore Lip them All”. Nice catch, do you like the shorter rod now that you have some seat time on it?
You were all over them. Sounds like a heck of a day
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
I really like it. It will most likely be my go to rod for Gills. It is very light in the hand and much more sensitive than I thought it would be. Plus it makes it easier to net fish. They make a 5 10 model and I am looking real hard at it.

Here is just one grate. Ninety percent of what you see is bluegill-shellcracker.
