Amazing, fantastic!
Awesome day Randy! Just out of curiosity, why was that lock closed down? I can’t think of any closed down locks in Arkansas that I could check to see if it holds fish like that.

When they built the new lock at Nickajack they decommissioned the old locks and removed the doors on the tail water side. At Pickwick they built a new lock but kept the old one as an auxiliary one. But the space between new and old locks there hold a ton of bluegill also.

Just watched the video of your great day and was trying to focus on the bending curve of the 6.3 Majorcraft. It looks as if it has a decent to even stiff backbone and bends only in the upper third. How would you describe the tip and bending curve?
You nailed it. That stiff back bone is why it is not the best rod to use ester with to target 14-18 inch Spots. It is great for bluegill.....crappie......and I have been using some JDM 3 gram trout blades for trout and it really shines. It definitely is worth the money. Using ester with the 6’ 7” Banshee I don’t lose many spotted bass at all. It is softer than this rod plus the 4 more inches gives me a lot more rod to cushion the line. Fighting stocker trout.....and bluegill on this rod is a hoot.

You are a busy guy. It's Troy from bream brain. I haven't been on over here in a long time. I didn't realize you were alphahawk, you're a busy guy.
Alphahawk thanked you for this post
I try to get out every chance I get but the cold weather slows me down. My son and I were going to fish a real honey hole Thursday but they turned the sluice on yesterday so we’ll be going back to Nickajack.
