3 or 4 Piece Rod vs Telescopic Rod
So this past summer I did tons of creek wading/fishing. On the more remote creeks, I had a tough time getting in a two piece or one piece rod. I think that if I could find something a little more compact, it might open things up for me next summer. Anyone have any experience with ultralight or light action telescopic rods or 3 or 4 piece rods? I have read some on this topic and It sounds like telescopic rods can be a little fragile. Any experience with either would be appreciated.

Daiwa , makes(sells under their name ) a nice compact ultralight . Not sure about number of pieces . Brother does a lot of hiking and carries one .

I don’t have any experience but there are some good 4 piece JDM rods available. Daiwa....Tenryu.....Major Craft and Shimano have some good pack rods. Chris Stewart...over at Finesse Fishing has experience with some pack rods. The new Fine Tail pack rod is well liked in the UK. See video:

I had one of the diawa packages already mentioned. Good little rig with a soft action, at least the one I had was. For a full time rod I didn’t care for it, but I carried it in the truck and had fun with it several times. Never dealt with a collapsible. Some of the multipiece rods I’ve handled in outdoor stores have been very good and I felt at the time that they were worth the money.

Both BnM and Mr Crappie make a telescopic Bream rod which i feel are nice rods and very similar to a Fly rod.
The BnM is called (Little Jewel), the one i have is 9’.
I have both a 9’ and a 10’ Mr Crappie Bream rods.
Actually the 10’ BnM telescopic (Black Widow) rod is pretty sensitive also to my mind and can handle a larger fish.
