Default Advice on picking first JDM reel.

Guys, I bought the Major Craft Tra Para 6'3" UL a couple of weeks ago and now find myself wanting to purchase a JDM reel to match it. What size would you recommend a 1000 or 2000 to balance out with this rod? I have been looking at the following reels.
    Which reel would you recommend?
    1. Shimano Sahara
    2. Daiwa Legalis
    3. Daiwa Revros
    4. Daiwa Regal

    Thanks,
    Flintcreek

Tough call. But I’d choose the Sahara 1000.

I have two in your list
    old Sahara 750FB
    new legalis LT 1000
Between these two I pick Legalis LT but Sahara is good too.
i don’t think new revros or regal LT come with air bail. Old Regal AB yes but heavier.

Thanks guys I reely wish I could get my hands on these reels to try them out. I did get my hands on the Shimano Sahara US model today and was very impressed. I liked the balance and feel better than my Pflueger President and other spinning reels. Right now the Sahara is the leader since I really liked the US version. I am going to see if I can get my hands on some more of the US versions of these reels this weekend before making up my mind and ordering.

The JDM version of the Sahara is same as US version.....it just has a shallow spool.

Do you guys miss not being able to turn off the anti reverse? I find I do use it, particularly when fighting a nice smallie.

That is one of the reasons I prefer Daiwa reels to Shimano.
