I don’t own any reels without the anti reverse switch.....even though I don’t back reel.....so I can’t really say. I know a lot of folks back reel.

Well guys I finally got a little time off work to get out and shop for a reel, I ended up upgrading to the Stradic 1000 HG. Not a JDM reel but a very nice reel at a good price. In a couple minutes I am spooling it up with some 2 lb. Trilene XL Smooth Casting. Hope to try it out along with a new Shimano Chronarch MGL 150 (anniversary gift from work 35 years) and a new All Star rod that I caught on sale at Academy a few weeks ago.

One more note I think I am really going to like the Stradic 1000 it has a bigger spool than the rest of my 1000 series reels, looks like it is about the same as my 2500 President.
