Thread: "Reel" quicky @ LP 09 02 19

Rooki, these days I still break out the spinners but they have another purpose. I use them as a search bait. Once they get a couple I get out the jigs and slow down to see who else is around. Hard to beat an 11” shell cracker trying to take the rod and spinner away from you.

In my humble opinion spinning blades attract by sight, sound and an unique vibration. Fish do not need to be hungry to eat a spinner. I believe sometimes the spinning blade aggravates them to the point they want to KILL that strange thing. It all depends on their mood. Sometimes they just need to come and see then the plastic, feathers, fur etc. does the rest. Anyways I been chucking and trolling some sort of spinning blades for years because they work for almost anything that swims.

i agree 100% , and for blue-gill , i take the smallest beetle spin i have and take the regular jig-head that came on it off , and put my favorite tiny jig head on ...plus i have bought some jigs with spinners from the excellent vendors on cdc and they work great too !! ...i am going to try more of the small spinners from the vendors here too ....
