Default My body is just not into it.

Hit the water for the first time in a week I guess. While I got there early enough the heat.....and oppressive humidity, just put a damper on me. After a couple of hours I just pulled the plug. While the bite was not that great I was catching fish. On a cooler day would have stayed much longer. I’m just ready for the heat to get out of here. Caught a mixed bag and had a ball using the Palms Egeria XUL rod. Got some new baits in from Japan today that look like they might be good for deeper bluegills. It is basically...or looks like to me....a micro blade bait. It is a MagBite McFly 3 gram with a single #6 hook. The skirt is removable. I am sure the KY bass will knock the crap out of these but I’m thinking bluegill will also. I have some similar coming for trout that have a single #6 barbless hook. These baits are designed to be either used in a vertical presentation or a slow retrieve. Now just need a break in this weather to try them out.

    Regards

Let us know how micro blade work for you, I was gonna order a few last time, but not sure if it would work for crappie when slow retrieve or yo-yoing.

Watched the video, that was a nice Crappie for sure. This heat has been oppressive, 17 days in a row in the 90’s. Water is falling fast up here, should be lots of current down your way. That blade bait looks interesting, like to see a video of how you use it.

Some very nice fish Randy. And that’s a crazy looking blade bait. I agree that the spots will munch em good. Heat has been tough here too, makes go hunt shade.

Interesting looking lure Randy. The heat here has been rough too, until yesterday. The front that pushed through cooled things off but also made the bite tough. Fall is just around the corner! Can’t wait!

I am with you on the heat thing , its limiting my time on the water as I age for sure .
this is also one of the reasons I so often go under bridges to wet a jig in the summer .
one of my buds last week was about to fall out by 9 am without any shade .
he is a little older than me at 65 or so .
    nice fish there and congrats
