    Default Slow & hot @ LP 07 20 19

Got out with Big Ant today. Got hot quick. Decided to try some deep water trolling on the dam and we found a lot of small fish - unusual.

Small fish for you maybe, whoppers for us back East. It’s hot here too, but it is Mid July. Cool front coming through next week, may have a night or two in the 50’s. Last picture shows some grass on the lure, from deep water?

Small? I would love to catch bluegill that size. Those are big fish in my book.

Pretty fish. It’s hot here....although I don’t mind the heat. And it is slow here....as in I ain’t fishing....LOL. Another 3.5 weeks an I should be after them again.

    Regards

    thnx for the comments guys
stan - south corner of the dam has flooded timber, we were in 35 FOW and you could see moss covered tree tops @~12'. We didn't stick around here (rock climbers cove) too long. We were looking for safe zones to fish - lake lice are terrible back in the east end, especially on the weekends right now.
Hang in there Randy - know the feeling. Don't rush it, a huge mistake I made last year with the elbow.
Sj1 - my trolling is lazy man fishing but you stumble across some very nice fish...

Forgot to mention that we went to the dam with the intent to locate Green Sunfish. Didn't find any. We were amazed with the numbers of smaller (7" to 9") Bluegill that were suspended in 21 to 35 FOW.

How's the fall fishing on the lake and into the winter time frame?

I still say some of us guys need to meet there for a few days, to do some fishing.

I’m with redearhoosier, thems nice feesh. My little trips have been keeping the urge at bay but I have something new that just raised its ugly head that I have to deal with. Glad for the little time I get. Glad you got out and dodged the crazy ones.

Those are some nice fish for sure. Only gills I have seen or caught around here are in the 3" range...though with this work on the house I haven't gotten out much lately...
