    Default Nothing to report

I got up early Friday morning , hooked the boat up and headed down to the river. I was number two at the ramp but there was no one in sight. I headed down river to " The Spot " .

It was a quiet morning, no wind, so it made boat control easy. I started to 'shoot " to the bank but fell a little short. ( still working on that ). I moved on down the bank testing the waters as I went. I made a good shot to the bank and was working it back to the boat when the line stopped. I lifted the rod tip and the real started to sing. After two or three runs, I boated a palm sized gill. I was fun but I didn't think he was big enough to make the real sing. I tightened the drag some.

I worked my way around the bend, then over to the other side of the river. Still nothing. I worked my way down towards the main river and was almost there when the rod bent again. Another small one made it to the boat. I let him go to grow up with the other one.

I crossed the river and worked my way up the side creek. Went up further than I had gone before. Still no luck. By now the sun was high in the sky and I could not find a lot of shade. It was time to head in.

Count for the day was two small gills and some boat control practice and a lot of time working on my 'shooting " .

    There is always next time.

another good day at the office !

I have to go to the coast next week for some meetings. I might spend some time testing the waters for some blue crabs. I feel the need for change up for a few days. LOL

Sometimes it is not about the fish count, but the memories and experience. Keep after them.
