How about a progress report Randy?
Thanks for the thought. The past 7 days I had to be inactive. I developed a hematoma on the incision which stopped me from doing any of the exercises. Usually that is not a huge issue...but due to the fact I am on blood thinner it was a problem. I pretty much lay in bed most of that time with the feet above my heart and ice packs on the incision only getting up once an hour for 5 minutes then right back to bed. But I am happy to report the hematoma has been absorbed back into the body and I had a great day at PT today....she worked me hard and said the hematoma was no longer an issue but I still had to be careful. I can now walk..stand, for ten minutes every hour...and sit in a normal chair. I feel fine...just bored. I have some discomfort and am stiff...but the pain I had before the replacement is gone. I have a small issue with a discomfort under my right hip which may be the LT band....a spinal issue...or could just be soreness from the operation. Whatever it is it was not there before the surgery. I am probably 4 weeks out from fishing.....if all continues as planned. I found out today the problem with a hip replacement is most patients feel so much better immediately after the surgery they over do it....and I think that was me.
