There were some in TN, my bet is yes.
Are there any copper nose in Arkansas?

I'm sure they are stocked in certain lakes. Around here that is the case

They are in private ponds around the state. I have also seen some reference to them in some old stocking records. I even saw a mention of them being stocked in Lake Conway in the 80s. They are kind of like Florida strain Largemouth Bass. The Copper Nose strain Bluegill is non-native to Arkansas. They would do ok here but we do not have the really long growing season for them to get to LP size. Believe me, for the last few years I have thought about trying to experimentaly stock some in a lake. The problem is in Arkansas the natural conditions favor the regular “northern” strain of Bluegill. For a stockkmg to be successful, they would need to be stocked during a lake renovation, when the density of regular bluegill is really low due to a drawdown of the lake. We have been planning a drawdown if Lake Conway for years. Who knows, when we finally get the funding for the Lake Conway renovation, I may see what I can do.

I should also mention that Redbreasts were also stocked in a few lakes in the 80s. There are records mentioned in the Fishes of Arkansas book. The conditions here must not be right because I don’t think you can find any anymore.
