Wonderful video, Randy!! My favorite fish for certain. Question, are these redear already heading to build their nests? Wow, it's a little early but it's all about that water temperature.

I'm up here on Barkley and I'm thinking if it stays this warm, they'll bed up Wednesday of next week due to the full moon. Thoughts?

Usually they go on bed in May.

Thanks for watching. It’s hard to say. I need to get back up in the lake to see if they are bedding.....plus there’ll be bigger red ear up there. I have no clue why those fish were where they were at. I fully understood all the bluegill stacked up on that log 15 feet down. That river rises and falls so much if the red ear make beds where I caught them yesterday they will have to leave the beds.....they’ll be dry. Water temps are low 60’s which tells me shell cracker are in pre-spawn. But the bluegill were peeing so they are in pre-spawn also. Last years big red ear video was in May. If the wind lays some I’ll be at the spot I did the shell cracker video last May 1st thing in the morning. You’re right.....with temps in the 80’s water is warming fast. Could happen quick.

    Regards

You need to get down there on that spot really soon. I'd wager a bet that those big redear will be on that spot a week from now because of that full moon.
