    Default More chunks @ LP 04 07 19

Tried something new today, based on Fridays observations & an extensive map investigation, and it worked. Pulled up to an area I normally use as a start point for trolling, anchored (ipilot) and cast an auto. Boom - fish inhaled it (good fish hit it bad that it inhaled it. Tried it again and got another fish. Not real big fish but good eaters. boats started poking around so I went trolling in 24 to 27 FOW, water temp got up to 64*F.

Lake is getting a lot of fishing pressure and the lice are starting to move. The last picture is a boat that moved in where I just got a double. Was taking pictures, turned around and I had a new neighbor. It was worth it, almost, watching them sacrifice rigs to the trees. I felt bad for the yakkers on the right and in the center. Figured it was good time to leave.....

Some kind of nice fish. I had fun today myself but those fish are way bigger than I get here.

Great looking fish. So if you caught the first few by cast and retrieve, did they whack it, tick it, or just get heavy at that depth? I know you run JDM tackle.

    Thnx guys
Stan - I'm parked in ~30' casting over 19', counting down to 17'. 1st fish you could see the line jump, wasn't really expecting a hit. Next fish - I started counting down. Then I had to move on because boat vultures started watching. Besides the CNBGs weren't what I was looking for. I did come back and try one more time and managed to drop a big fish.

When I troll - the combination of sharp hook and the responsive tips of the rod - set the hook. The important part is to get the fish's head turned up and in the right direction.

Looks like one escaped a bird attack, very nice fish. Fishermen there aren't shy about moving in on someone catching fish. One year when I was there we were catching gills and crappie in an area off the main lake and some guys moved in so close they actually hit your boat on a couple casts.
