Default Some fish on a Palms XUL rod.

There are a few bluegill on the video but mostly caught buck bass. Thought some folks would like to see the bending curve on the Finezza Prototype while fighting a 12 inch crappie using 2.1# test nylon line. The Finezza is a fantastic rod. Hope you enjoy the video.

    Regards

Another good video, the bass are fun but the fat chunky Gills are the bonus. If there is a regular harvest from that lake it looks large enough to have a great population of Panfish. Are boats allowed there or is it a bank fishing only spot? Have fun this week with the good weather forecast, I am planning my outings as well. Spring is on the Calendar this week, woo hoo!

Thanks much for watching. I went down there hoping to get just Gills.....but we have to take what the lake gives up. If you looked in the upper left corner of some of the fishing clips there was a guy sitting on a point. That is the point I wanted to be on.....Gills stack up off of there.....LOL. He wasn’t catching anything and I was hoping he would leave....but never did. You can put a boat in there but no running of the gas motor. Launching is easy but I have to get in the water to load up.....a little cold yet for me to do that. The lake is not producing the bluegill in sizes it did 4-5 years back. Back then not many fished the lake at all. What is still in there though is big shell cracker.....at least I hope so. I have pulled 12-13 inch ones out of there quite a bit and about 7 years back had two 14 inch shell crackers out of there. The problem is on the side I’m fishing on is the prime bedding areas for Gills and shell cracker. TWRA keeps the place looking like a park setting and that whole side of the lake gets hit hard during the spawn.

    Regards

A ton of fun.....and it is a very beautiful lake. For many years fishing it through the week, it was almost like fishing a private lake. I used to kayak and had the place to myself most of the time. It sits down in a bowl and in the summer the heat is stifling. By the end of June most have given up on it because of the heat. But some summers the thing stays on fire with the bluegill bite. But of course now it is a 90 mile drive for me.

    Regards
