The reels I have the 3 and 4lb yellow braid on are the Diawa Luvias 1003 series. Man I wished I had a couple more, low ratio and perfect size for JDM UL rods.

Me too! There are a few out there but the price has gone up on them!

The Ballistic FW is holding its own, getting more time on it and so far so good.

Thanks. Nice reel. I saw Reel Engine on the side and assumed it was a Quantum (one of their things is Reel Engine Design RED).

What knot do you recommend on the spool? Right now, I only plan to put SOS on the reel, no backing.

I just tie a regular overhand knot (x2) and pull tight and trim tag close. I then hold the knot down against the spool and give the line a few wraps around the spool manually, then trip the bail and begin spooling the line. There may be a fancy knot or a more correct way to do it, but it works for me. YMMV

I use an Arbor Knot. Been around forever, and works nicely. I figure if I get spooled to that point I have more serious problems on my hands!

I make a loop on the end of the line by holding a folded over line and twisting it, then push the main line through it and snug it up. I then make that loop go on the spool twice and slip it tight. Holds good and hasn’t caused any problem yet.

How do y’all spool the line on your spinning reel? I’ve seen everything from label up to label down, switch sides if it starts to twist. Or do any of y’all put the spool vertical?
