Thanks for the info. Been meaning to place an order.

Does anyone know if the varivas line has a mark half way on the spool?

None of the Varivas lines I have used had the midway mark.

The area Meister that I bought that is orange and black behaved well, and could be seen but I had to look for it sometimes. I’m inexperienced with this kind of line so I took a shot in the dark and I’m pleased with the results. I’m tying direct to the jigs I’m using. Fish were slow and look forward to a busy day to get used to these new lines and rods.

Once you get used to these Ester lines, which behave much like braid, you will not want to go back to monofilament. The sinking factor of the Ester lines is a bonus when fishing with 1/32 - 1/64 ounce baits in medium to deep depths. To me, monofilament bites just seem mushy now. Good luck and have fun trying them out.

The Bait Finess Nylon has marks at the quarter, half way and three quarters (every 30 meters on a 120 meter spool).

After fishing it for almost 2 years now I agree with your statement. I love the stuff but I have come to realize one can't use it all the time. I seriously doubt I would fish it on trips to Dale Hollow Lake. I have had a lot of success using it for Spots up to the 17 inch range using the Banshee 6' 7" and Tict Ice Cube 6' 9" rods with break offs being rare. Switch to the Corto or Blue Current TZ and I have to really keep an extremely loose drag. The bigger white bass are moving in below Nickajack now and Monday I will switch over to the Troutist 3# test nylon....even though I would rather stick with the ester. I will be using the Corto and I feel I will need the nylon if the 16 inch white bass have moved in.

    Regards

So you’re saying that the nylon has a bit of stretch and the Ester has much less stretch? If that is so then I bought the right line for my application. I want to try the Ester sometime in the future but I also want to get used to the nylon so I know what characteristics will be different. I already see a lot of difference from the domestic 2lb I use a lot of now.

Ester has zero stretch. All nylon lines have stretch. Ester line just takes bite detection to a complete different level.

Hi Skeet. As far as the difference you see in The JDM VS domestic, are you sensing less stretch and a little more sensitivity? Just wondering about the difference.
    thanks
