    Default Cherokee Stud

1.37 inches of rain yesterday caused all creeks and small streams to rise and look like chocolate milk. With the wife out of town I stopped at a small spring fed pocket across from the Marina and pitched a bait. A few nibbles and some small gills kept me entertained for a little while then this old boy whacked my plastic and took off like a rocket. Expecting a White Bass I was pleasantly surprised by my best Bluegill of 2019 so far. Cherokee has some decent size Cricket Crunchers in it but the girth on this one for this time of year impressed me. Pictures and a quick release, these are the fish that make us want to go back for more.

Nice gill! I am tempted to take a little vacation with the high being 62 but with all the rain it’s probably kind of pointless but I’d love to try this rod out!
