The Lunkerhunt May bug in the olive color is the only plastic I used regularly last year that produced with any consistency. I cut 2-3 segments off so it was only about an inch long and panfish and channels really liked it. Tiny hand ties with #10- #12 sickles were killers from March through October. -5 F here now with wind chill of -25 F. Won't be fishing today. Crazy weather, supposed to be 60 F by the weekend.
The Ester line is taking some getting used to, I am still using the Nanofil on another JDM rod, and find them about equal for now. But, I am bank fishing the local creeks in shallow water and have not compared them for the deeper bite detection. The Soare has been a hoot this winter, with the limber tip I foresee having to net all my Crappie while fishing from the boat, not a big deal really. Buggy baits are becoming my new favorites, I have used the May Bug in the olive color tipped with a larvae and had some success, did think it needed to be shortened. I will pinch a bit off next time and see if it makes a difference. Cold here also, warm next week and a couple afternoon trips will be in order.

No JDM rods, but a couple that work well for me. I’ve found consistent bite with the itty bitty slab slayer in tadpole and blue ice and eclipse, in that order. Have a jar of gulp maggots that help when things get slow. 1/64#8 gets a lot of play here, and made up my mind to move to my hand ties this year. Let some of my guests use some and they stay busy so now that the colors are known, I’ll tie a few and use them. Family issues have squashed my trip west in April so I have to find enough to keep me busy here. Til I get my shower rebuilt, I can only dream and wonder what will be going on when I get out. Y’all keep after em, enjoy reading the posts from those that know how.
