I wish! They are made by Smith (Japan) and the reason I go to the trouble of getting them is that they don't cause line twist. The built in power swivel and offset weight design together work really well to prevent twist. The pictured spinner is called 'Niakis' and stays down better than the Indiana style blades on Mepps / Vibrax etc. It fishes like a Rooster Tail basically except no twist. Also, due to crazy USPS charges, it is easier for me to buy from Japan than the US. Smith also do a Panther Martin-style line through called the 'AR-S', lots of great colour and size options.

Have you ever tried single hooks on the Niakis spinners? Welcome to the forum...

Some models come with singles, I've used them I think but don't recall any specific differences between singles and trebles. There is definitely potentially to make a fairly snagless spinner by using a single 'plugging style' hook and maybe dressing it 'Crazy Charlie' style with a material like rabbit hair / calf- or squirrel tail to make sure it stays point up. I guess you could even tie up a weedguard on a single hook.

Incidentally, I suggested to Chris at Finesse Fishing that he stocks these spinners as he has access to Smith product - I'm sure he'll do so in due course.

The only reason I haven't stocked them already is that I have a very hard time believing anyone will be willing to pay $11 for a spinner.

Still $11 is ... RSP in Japan more like $6.50 + shipping.

I think Blue Fox and Rapala make something similar.

Unless its new I don't think so. Only Smith and Daiwa do a power swivel built into the spinner shaft AFAIK...

Welcome! Those are some beautiful fish and tackle. I've never seen a red-breasted tilapia before and the bottom one almost looks like a cross between a bass and a yellow perch.
