The MGXExtreme is touted as their flagship model....and I do hope they produce more of the 1000 size as I too would match one up with the Eradicator Finesse

Yep - That’s was my plan too but I’ve searched and can’t find one either at a reasonable price.
I think they may have been phased out and replaced with the MGX Theta, which has 1000S model. It’s 5.2 instead of 4.8...
Max retrieve per 1 rotation on the ballistic is 60cm vs 63cm on the MGX Theta.
There’s a few photos with that reel on that rod and it does looks good.
It’s tempting at least...

Best price I can find the Ballistic is $245. Any other reel suggestions for the 67 Eradicator?
I switched my Daiwa Presso Ltd over to the ABU Eradicator as Randy did and the two seem to go together well. Very lightweight combination and casting a 1g jig head with plastic on super thin braid is effortless. I had the FW Ballistic 1000 on a different JDM rod with me as well and used the two combinations interchangeably on Saturday-Sunday morning trips. The Ballistic would definitely be a good choice for the ABU, you shouldn’t be disappointed in that reel choice.

@Alphahawk RE: Zaion knobs. I got two of these from DT today, and was installing them on my 2 Luvias LT 2000S. I notice they do not come with a plug to cover the screw, and the original one does not fit. The instructions show a plug, but the text is all Japanese, so I can't tell if it says "plug not included" or not.
"Alive without breath, as cold as death; never thirsty, ever drinking, all in mail never clinking."
Hedgehog studio sells plugs that will work with the zaion knobs. I do not believe Daiwa makes one. Sent from my SM-G973U using Crappie.com Fishing mobile app
