What is the lightest spinning reel out there? Is there anything lighter than Vanquish 1000/ Luvias 2000/Soare Ci4+ 500? I'd love to put something that weighs less than 140 g on my Blue Current 67 TZ Nano. Maybe I am asking for too much...

I only keep up with Shimano and Daiwa reels...between those 2 brands 145 grams is as light as it gets.

If anyone is interested, Asian Portal has three Luvias FC LT 2000S left in stock, as of now.

had a chance to test out the drag on FC LT and am very impressed – got spooled by something quite big in the bay. Never saw it as I had to lock up the drag after about 100 meter run, and the fish did not even notice it and broke the leader. But the drag worked flawlessly – very stable and gradually slowed the fish down a bit. I did not have a chance with a 12 lbs leader...

Just a heads up on a good price. Tatula LT 1000 for $163. Good deal on a quality, lightweight reel. 5.8 oz
    I just ordered one.

For those interested in a spare spool for the new 2020 Luvias, the SLP Works Type-A are a great option, just got a pair in from Plat. $50 each. $118 total including 2 Day air FedEx.

They look great on the reel as well.

Great info, thanks. I've been wondering about SS spool for 2000 and 2500 Luvias FC LT.

WARNING: Daiwa has (partly) moved production of Luvias to China. The latest reel I received from Asian Portal was made in China. The previous reel I received from them was of Japanese origin. I do not know if it affects the quality of the reel, but I was buying a Japanese reel. A major letdown from Daiwa... I sent an email to the seller and will see where it takes me.

Good to know. My Luvias was on back order for months and I received it in May, it was probably from the last batch of Japan versions.

Interesting and a little disappointing. I just checked mine and it is serial #276375 and made in Japan. What was the serial # of the made in China Luvias reel?

Ugh is that why they were less expensive on Asian Portal? I too was buying a Japanese reel, hoping to have my first Japanese made JDM reel. I’m also trying to boycott Chinese products so that’s a double whammy.

I guess I’ll find out when it gets here.
