Thank you! Where can I order the 1000 series Ballistic FW? Is it Digitaka or Plat?

Was wondering if that would be the answer I'm hitting up the Little Red River in Arkansas in April and will take one high ratio reel to burn some Niakas spinners and to fish the Timon Metal Kuroball 3.5 gram...which is a great trout lure.

Thank you, Randy! I just ordered this reel and will pair it up with the Finetail area stage rod. I love this JDM equipment!! I can only purchase it occasionally because my wife gets the alert on her email when I purchase just about anything via PayPal!!!

I've got the money but she doesn't see it that way. LOL

I am chomping at the bit to make a decision on the line to put on mine. They will pair well with any UL rod no doubt....but like you I'm wanting to put it on the Fine Tail Area Stage. A reel that weighs 5.5 ounces...with a rod that weighs 1.9 ounces....going to be one sweet setup.

Here is a video I find interesting. I did a ton of research on the Fine Tail Area Stage rods....a ton of research on the Daiwa Ballistic FW reel before I purchased. The Japanese are no dummies when it comes to selecting equipment to fish with. This guy has a highly tuned FW 2000 he has mated to a Fine Tail Area Stage rod. I am sure he has tuned it with extra bearings...but take a look at the handle. He not only has the Zaion knob but he has a custom handle on the reel also....probably lighter and shorter....plus a balancer. In the last part of his short video he uses another setup...a 2018 Daiwa Exist....along with a Daiwa Presso Limited AGS area trout rod....the Ballistic and Fine Tail are sure in good company there....LOL. Tells me I need to take a closer look at the Ballistic FW series and do a little more research to find out just how far I want to go in purchasing some more of those reels and how far I want to tune them....of course I will thoroughly test out the 2020 Luvias before making that decision.

FYI, I just saw on HedgeHogs website that they were selling the spare spools for the 19 Ballistic FW 1000 for $110 USD. I did not put one in the cart to determine shipping.

Update on Daiwa Ballistic FW 1000S-P. Got out today to test out the new reel with some 2.3# test ester on it. While I may have had concerns before hand I don’t now. It is a joy to fish. I caught over 125 fish today......60 of them being crappie. Had a good Spotted bass test it out...and a lot of white bass. Had the reel on my Fine Tail Banshee Area 6’ 7” trout rod. I had a blast. I still can’t recommend this reel over the not yet seen 2020 Luvias but if one just had to have a 1000 series...with the 4.8 ratio......you won’t go wrong.

    Regards

Great looking fish, all species shown look like quality specimens. Speak to the drag of this reel, as smooth as the........Presso?.....15Luvias?........TwinPower?
