Needed the bearing tune kit for my 20 Luvias LT 2000S. Hedgehog is too expensive on shipping right now, so I measured the three bearings (mm):
    Spool support bearing: 11 x 7 x 2.5 mm
    Spool drag bearing: 10 x 6 x 2.5 mm
    Handle knob bearing: 7 x 4 x 2.5 mm

I ordered ABEC-7 stainless steel bearings from HPR bearings on ebay. You will also need a tiny 0.034" allen wrench for the spool support bushing set screw, 1/32" or 0.89 mm are the closest size on McMaster-Carr. HTH

That's good info. Same as you I felt it was too expensive to get the kit from Hedge Hog so I got the same bearing kit for the FW LT reels...they are same size bearings. Probably should have done as you and just ordered the 3 separate bearings.

I emailed the info to Pedro at HPR, and he can now do a kit for the 2000S, he just needed to know if it needed one or both handle bearings.

Switching gears a little, any suggestion on a 1000 series reel in the $200 or less range?

I have a 2000 legalis and just got a 1000 caldia. The Caldia is super nice to me. Looking to match up w The abu Erradicator 67 that’s in route. Thx all.

I can’t think of any at that price range. I really like pairing up the LT reels with the 2 ounce and under rods. The Caldia should work out well. Looking around it seems tackle shortages are more and more common.....no matter the price range.

I was in this predicament few years back and had to settle for old like new 13 certate 1003 to match majorcraft XUL rod. In this scenario you can also do same perhaps a new old stock Daiwa Iprimi 1003?

There've been talk about good prices on Vanquish. This 1000SSSPG is about $410 shipped to your door:

Shimano 19 Vanquish 1000SSSPG - Asian Portal Fishing - Japan Brand Fishing Tackle

Right now there is two in stock.

After much thought and research I ordered the Abu Garcia new Revo MGX Theta 1000S. I came across two Japanese fishing blogs talking about the reel....not to mention the videos I watched and tried to make sense out of the translation. One of the bloggers comments the Theta will be a replacement for the MGXtreme....the other stated emphatically that the MGXtreme is still in production...yet both came to the conclusion the Theta is the better reel. The Theta weighs 8 grams more than the MGXtreme and has one less bearing. The weight difference comes from the rotor. The MGXtreme rotor is carbon-magnesium...the Theta rotor is a carbon resin type. While I would have preferred the MGXtreme.....I think it is the better looking reel.....but no telling when you could find one....if ever. This reel will pair up nicely...aesthetically....with the Eradicator and the Finezza Prototype. Been a very long time since I have purchased an Abu Garcia reel....summer 1969. At the price point I will be comparing this to the new Luvias. Going to be interesting....

Congrats on the new reel. I’ve struggled with this for several weeks now. Could you post the links to those blogs by chance?

I keep going back and forth between the 1000s Theta, the Ballistic FW LT, and the MGXtreme. As you mentioned, the latter can’t be found in any of the usual places. Where I have seen it, the price is north of $400.

Really looking forward to your thoughts on it. I may not be too far behind you in purchasing.

    Cheers.
