Mine came too. Seems like a nice reel. I definitely prefer the non shiny finish of my tatula lt reels.

Got the hedgehog bearing tune kit installed in the reel. The handle bearings make a nice difference, not sure about the others. Supposedly it has 2 line roller bearings, did anyone confirm?

I also installed the bearing kits in 4 of my tatula lt 1000 reels . I also installed the 2nd line roller bearings in one of them, I couldn't find any info on what would work in that reel, so just orderer one line roller kit for a different reel, and it worked out. My wife fishes, so I pretty much have 2 of every rod and reel once I find something that works good

Yes it has 2 roller bearings....you’ll just have to trust me on that. I don’t open a reel anymore unless it is to tune one. I now leave all the cleaning to the professionals. I’m too old to see all those tiny parts anymore. The drag support bearing....and spool support bearing....will come into play when a fish pulls drag. It is not something you can feel when cranking the handle. A lot of folks really take tuning to the max. No one disputes better performance in the tuning we are doing....such as replacing bushings with bearings....or adding an extra line roller bearing if a reel only has one line roller bearing.....a 35mm or 40mm handle. A lot of folks will have a reel completely taken apart...all factory bearings replaced with high performance bearings.....very high end lubricants are used.....then all meshing gear surfaces are polished to mesh better. Is all that necessary.....I don’t know but a lot do it. In the Shimano Vanquish FW Tuned and the Presso Limited reels....they use special oiled bearings.....polishing of gears....and the price is reflected accordingly. I have to tell you I would love to have all my reels feel like the Presso Limited. Of course you may already know all this....if so forgive me for preaching to the choir....LOL.

Question about the knob bearings for those who've done the HedgeHog tune kit: my (2015) Luvias 1003 knob only had one metal washer, inboard, and two plastic bushings. I replaced the bushings with the ball bearings, but since there was only one washer, I put it under the screw, i.e., bearing (first thing on shaft) - knob - bearing - washer - screw - plug. The instructions do say something about the variation in place and number of washers. Anyway, knob feels great.

The other think that was odd, my 1003 already had drag ball bearings in both drag positions, not plain bushings. In any case, the kit only came with one drag bearing, but instructions show install for both drag bearing positions (spool and shaft, or top and bottom). I presumed the one HH bearing was better quality than the stock bearing, and put it in the spool. Weird.

You can put the washer on either end...or not use it at all...or sometimes there may be more than one washer. It’s up to you and how the fit is after installing the bearings. I don’t know if HH bearings are better than OEM in a Daiwa reel or not. According to their website...and what I have read about them....each bearing they sell is fit tested. I’m still trying to wrap my head around how those bearings came in your reel. Got to love the 2015 Luvias 1003.

Oh jeez, I feel like I'm missing something on my reels because I certainly have not upgraded the three I have. I'm debating!! I'm not very mechanically inclined, this could be trouble!

I figured it out, Randy - my memory is going. In my 2018 eBay history, I found where I bought the bearing for the Luvias spool at the same time I bought a tune kit for my Shimano Stradic Ci4+ (from "hprbearings"). I also looked in my 2015 Luvias 2004H reel, which I KNOW is stock, and lo and behold, it had a bushing in the spool. So I put the extra ball bearing in that reel. It's all good. So now I just need the +1 line roller and +2 knob upgrade for the 2004H. Glad I figured it out.

Tomorrow the new bail and other parts to finish repair and upgrade of my damaged 1003 will be here from PLAT. Wind will be gusting to 25-30 tomorrow, so a good day to stay home and work on my reel.
