Dang, I am tempted to jump on that. Don't need the stand. Wish my DT coupon wasn't expired. I would totally jump at 29 k Yen

What would be a suitable Daiwa reel other than the Luvias? I've got two Luvias reels that I LOVE, but they're pricey. Is there a small Daiwa reel that is priced perhaps closer to $150-$200 that anyone could recommend?

I may just bite the bullet and order another 1003 Luvias.

I tried a Daiwa Iprimi a while back......trying to save some money. It was soon in the hands of my son. I told myself then I would never buy another JDM reels that was not “Made in Japan”. Well I just went back on that when I bought the Ballistic FW 1000. The 2015 Luvias was my benchmark. Nothing less than that would do. Then I got the Presso Limited and as I’ve stated it was just another level. But I’m pretty sure it is out of production and at full retail price of $400 it puts a dent in the wallet. The Ballistic is my first Daiwa LT reel. The Ballistic and the Presso are my preferred reels now. The Certate.....Twin Power......and even the 2015 Luvias 2004 feels very heavy after handling the Presso and Ballistic. The 2015 Luvias 1003.....while heavier than the LT reels will still get a lot pf use.....it is a fantastic reel. At $270 I have to have the 2020 Luvias 2000 model. You can get some input from Stan....and jmbrewer about the Ballistic FW reel. At $216 I feel it is a very good reel......Digitaka sells it for $270. I added another 31 bucks for the bearing kit that adds 4 bearings.....2 in the knob and the other 2 replace 2 bushings. That brings me up to $247 in the reel. The new Luvias 2000S is only 23 bucks more and it is a superior reel no doubt. The new Luvias was announced the next day after I ordered the Ballistic and had I known that I would have not bought them. Now as I have mentioned the Ballistic FW 1000S is a different ratio than the Luvias 2000S and the Luvias takes considerable more line to fill. In my opinion the Ballistic FW 1000S is a great buy at $216. As Stan said...it is close in feel to the Presso Limited.....but understand it is not the same build quality. If you love the feel of your Luvias reels you will not be disappointed in the Ballistic in my opinion. But I’m afraid if you go down to a $150 reel you may not be happy with it after using your Luvias.

I was debating the Daiwa Freams as a lower cost reel. As far as I can tell is the the most cost efficient JDM Daiwa that is mag-sealed. I really like the mag-sealed feature. You can pick of a Daiwa 18 Freams 1000 or 2000 LT for about $130. Randy told me they are made in Vietnam though. I am still thinking about getting one for a Daiwa BBB 666tlfs telescopic rod I have on order. This will be my backpacking, travel rod, truck rod set up. If anyone already has a Daiwa Freams, let me know what you think. Thanks.

Correction. I ordered the Daiwa 18 Freams 1000lt and will report on it soon. I am very interested how it compares to the Luvias and Pressio Limited.
