How does the Rockin Finesse compare to the Rockin Drift?
They both have great action for crappie......which is no surprise as they are both made to catch Mebaru so I expected that to be the same. The Finesse is a little bit more rigid. The tip top and last 4 guides on the rod are the smallest guides I have ever seen on a rod. I’m guessing here as I have no way to measure them but they appear to be 2.5mm.......the Drift has 3.5mm guides. The Finesse is about 4 grams heavier. The sensitivity is great but it is not the same as the Drift. Fishing the Drift has to be experienced......one can’t explain it. I used the Finesse this past Friday to catch a boat load of crappie. The Finesse really requires a true 2.5# test mono line or less because of the small guides......meaning line .117mm diameter or less. I only had one Mebaru rod left....that being the Drift.......and I wanted another one. It can be hard to find a company that makes Mebaru rods less than 7 feet so I settled on another Tict product. I’m going to wear the roads out Wednesday-Friday chasing crappie with it. My latest video is up on YouTube. I hope to get into some 13-14 inch fish this week.

I bought a Rockin Drift 2 yrs ago off of ebay...was looking for a similar rod since the Drift is close to $600 now...
It’s very close to the Drift. I looked and looked for another brand to try but I did not want a rod over the 6’ 11” mark. What convinced me to get the Finesse was the new Sic-s guides on it. I’m glad I got it. Waiting on Plat to ship my new TenRyu 2018 Lunakia....really pumped about it.

how does it work with plat. I was looking at some of those Gekkabijin jigs like you are using, but it says "We will check the availability to the maker" Do you still add them to your cart or do you contact them about the product?
That 2018 Lunakia looks like a very nice rod I can't wait to see your review of it...
I just add them to the cart. I noticed the “we will check availability” box but so far I haven’t had any issues. I have received 2 orders of them and even though I said in my video they are not practical to fish with due to cost....about 75 cents each......I am ordering more today in #10 hook size. Need to get ready for upcoming Gill catching.

Not sure if it is OK to advertise an advertisement, so to speak, but I have a Tict Ice Cube Rockin' Finesse 6'9" Mebaru rod offered in the Classified Ads subforum. It is not the new model with the SIC guides.
