Glacier is certainly not a great fishing destination, but the scores of glacial lakes have a lot of Cutthroats this size that are very willing to attack a dry fly! Decent fishing requires a decent hike. This lake (Avalanche Lake) was our favorite, and was only two miles in. The problem was making yourself quit fishing in time to hike the two miles back out! Yes, we saw several grizzlies, and I gave them the respect they deserve! We went to Yellowstone two years ago, Wyoming side, and combined it with the Grand Teton NP. Didn稚 fish inside either park, but spent a day on the Snake River on a completely diy trout day. Caught a bunch of Cutthroats, including some pretty big ones. Also caught some Mountain Whitefish. I love the West! We would leave before daylight and return after dark. Already thinking about next year!
