I really like it. The build quality is excellent. The wood reel seat makes it look special. The sensitivity is more than I thought it would be....not as sensitive as the Fine Tail Banshee but still good. I am using Varivas 2# test trout line on it and I’m sure that helps make the rod shine. This rod was my first foray into the world of XUL or SUL. I was very surprised that it is not like a buggy whip. It has a much faster action than I expected. Casting is great using a 1/32 ounce jig with the Varivas......as a matter of fact the casting is excellent. I am pretty sure I am going to order another Area trout rod say from Tenryu or another Palms rod....but step up to a higher end model. I landed a pretty decent large mouth with it today and was surprised at how well it handled it.

    Regards

Nice video, those gills appeared to give the JDM rod a workout. They sure are pretty fish whether in TN or CA.

Thanks....that rod is amazing. It makes catching 5 inch bluegill a ton of fun.....not to mention 7-9 inch bluegill. I have also caught a bunch of trout on it. Today I caught a 2.5 pound largemouth on it. I got it in .....but wouldn’t want to do that too many times with it. Now that I have an XUL...and a SUL......I guess I need to try out an XXUL.....LOL.

    Regards
