    Fished the BG itty bits for the gills Wednesday and had a blast. No bait needed. Best colors were bluegrass and bayou booger fished under a small bobber, right outside of their beds. Caught over fifty in less than an hour. Kept 25 and was throwing them back for the last fifteen minutes. Biggest was a little over nine with numerous eights. No redears up this way.

    Small jigs are better for catching the BGs - found they tend to inhale - and get too many gut hooks on the bigger BG. We use mostly 1/48th and 1/32nd jigs with a #6 hook (prefer the Eagle Claw sickle). Majority of the fish we catch are stuck in the upper part of the mouth....
