If you give a budget for the rod you want to buy we’ll be able to narrow down the recommendations.

I have a 1000 size Daiwa Day Sprout on my Rockin’ Finesse... really good reel that I have liked a lot... I have 2 1025 Daiwa Presso Ltd that would work as well... both balance well with the finesse I just thought the all black Day Sprout matched up well and looked good...

Thanks, Luvias FC LT2000S does balance it very well, but I have never seen such a small first guide. Luvias' spool looks monstrous compared to it. I wish I had a couple of Presso Limited reels in my arsenal, but not at the current prices. I gather that must be one of the best UL reels from Daiwa.

What about the locking nut? Is it flush with the end of the seat when the reel is mounted or is it sticking out a bit?

One of the main differences between the R Finesse and the R Power (I had them both in hand fishing with ultraslab) is the first guide is bigger on the RP. Also the handle is a bit longer, and the butt is 1mm thicker. I'm very happy with the RP. I have beat the snot out of it and it still works perfect, and looks good.

Sticking out a bit but still feels good in my hand... might not stick out as much with a shimano??? I have a presso on my Rockin’ Power and it sits on the reel seat pretty much the same... I do love the Tict rods :D

Okay, thanks. Seems like this is not uncommon. I tried Shimano, old and new, and t is the same, so either a minor design flaw or it is the design. I am looking forward to testing this rod on the water. I got it for slowly working the lightest of the jig heads and possibly even weightless microplastics. I read a lot about this rod being the go-to for everything under 1 g. Accordingly, it will be paired with 1 lb ester, which may be a problem – I just spent 15 min threading this line into the Finesse's tiny guides...

… this thread is now the third longest on the site, behind only the "Show Your boats Off" thread on the main page and the "Pulling Cranks" thread on the Mississippi page. (Those threads were started in 2011 and 2010, respectively.)

    Way to go, JDM fans!

Never in my expectations did I think this thread would receive the kind of growth it has.
