AHHH so I just ordered my first JDM rod; the 6'7" Yamaga Blanks TZ Nano JHSP. I'm excited and nervous and totally worried I'm going to break the expensive SOB.

I would just like to mention that during this process, I had an amazing conversation with Chris Stewart of Finesse-Fishing.com. I am 1000% going to be ordering a rod from him in the near future. He gave me an excellent rundown of what to expect from Ajin, Area Trout, and Stream Trout rods. Unfortunately for my wallet, I am totally intrigued by these Stream rods. The reason I am mentioning this is that he straight up told me he didn't recommend a particular rod that might not have been a good fit for what I was trying to accomplish. I couldn't believe a seller would talk me out of a sale. I just wanted to brag on him a second because I can't remember the last time I ran into such honest salesmanship.

Congrats! You should know though, that this is a slippery slope – I am up five JDM rods since late February and have been painstakingly contemplating the next one. Taking too much time only because it is in an entirely different price category.

I'd be curious to know where you've ordered your 67. I've been after one of the BC models for the past three months with no success...

Finesse-fishing is a top-notch shop. Too bad they had to discontinue Ring Kick Tails. I cannot find them anywhere else.

    Chris is a great guy!

i see he has the 610 Lunakia in stock.... you can’t go wrong with that. It is quickly becoming my favorite JDM Rod next to my Abu 67SULT slow taper.

i do a lot of drop shotting this time of year and the Luna excels with that, as well as trout magnets with jig heads down to .5gr, spoons, crankbaits, and my micro Carolina rig I have been experimenting with lately.

If I could only have one of my JDM rigs forever it would be the 610Lunakia with the new 2020 Luvias 2000 and a couple spare spools.

That rig g goes with me everywhere when I travel for work, I work on tow boats on the big rivers, I’m always around water to fish.

It is such a pretty rod too. I got talked into the YB TZ JH Nano this time but honestly that kimono pattern carbon fiber is just calling to me.

I can’t imagine the 610 Lunakai not being a fantastic rod. I have the little 62 Luna and it is an absolute blast on my small stream. Smooth casting and can handle smallies and smaller trout. It willwhip larger fish as well, it will just take a little longer! LOL

If you want Ring Kick Tails I will order them for you. I switched from them to the very similar Eurotackle B-Vibes because the Ring Kick Tails are made in China and I am gradually moving away from Chinese products.

Chris is a good guy. He has another “JDM type” site called Tenkara Bum. I bought one of his seiryu rods for bluegill. Sweet!

Which reel do you pair with your Rockin' Finesse? I find that even Luvias FC LT2000S dwarfs that rod, and the first guide looks hilarious with this Daiwa's 42 mm spool. I keep thinking about Soare Ci4+ 500S.

Also, do you have the reel seat's nut sticking out a bit when the reel is mounted? Just a couple of millimeters, but it looks weird.
