I fished the Major Craft Finetail Banshee 602 SUL with the Presso LTD 1000S reel this afternoon for about 20 minutes in a friends pond. I could visibly see beds in 6-in to 1.5 feet of water. I forgot a leader but tied directly to the 2.3 pound varivas ester. The fish didn’t seem to mind the orange line. I caught 12 decent bluegill off the bed before I had to get the kids. The banshee is very sensitive. I could not believe the bend that a 6 to 8-in bluegill put on this rod. It was a blast! I could cast a 0.5g jig and trout magnets a country mile with this setup. The only down side is that it was difficult to pull the fish through the vegetation growing around the bank. This rod is a keeper for sure!

Good report, sounds like a tip that loads well with the light jig head weight and a soft bending curve. Perfect set up for that pond (minus the veggies around the rim), and maybe other skinny water Arkansas haunts?

Also, rod looks good with that Orange Ester.

Is a business called SevenSeasProShop legitimate? They certainly seem to be according to their Facebook page. They get favorable reviews on Facebook.

I was looking at buying a rod from them, the Finetail Banshee 6-3UL. They have it for a little over $200.

I’ve seen their name come up over the years doing research. Prices seem good but I’d find out shipping costs. They take PayPal so I wouldn’t worry too much about getting money back. I think they are the go to place for JDM gear in Thailand.......Thais are really into JDM gear.

I just tried out the Evergreen Superior 7’ Light action Scout Master with the new 20 Luvias 2000S. I strung the reel with 0.4 Unitaka braid (4-lb) with a 4-lb fluorocarbon leader. I can not believe how sensitive this rod it. I just thought the other JDM rods I have are sensitive. This is on another level. I believe you could feel a fish fart with this rod! It is also a pretty fast (stiff) rod. However I was able to delicately manipulate the 1.0g jig. Paired with the 2000S Luvias the balance is about perfect. It casts a 1.0g jig further than I need it to go. I will concur with the gentleman who previously reviewed this rod that the largest guide is probably just a tad smaller than it should be. It is the same size as the one on my Tict Rockin Finesse. All of the guides are tiny for a 7’ rod. The FG knot that I used to tie on the leader caused a little friction going through the last guide. Overall this is a game changer type of rod. I plan to use this as my main wade creek fishing rod. Who am I kidding, I will probably use it for most applications. I don’t think I will be putting it in a canoe though! Don’t want to lose or break it!

Not surprised at your assessment at all. I have been contemplating the 6’ 3” Superior for months. Their blanks are apparently made by Graphiteleader. The reason I have not ordered it is I so much want a high end XUL trout rod.....but until EMS mail is working again it is not going to happen. In the end I may just order the Superior.

Great report on an awesome rod! Do you have any ajing rods to compare with your Superior? I'd really like to hear your comments on that subject.

I got around the leader knot issue by keeping my leaders under 3 feet and never letting the knot get past the tip guide. I did have to change my casting technique accordingly and it only works on a clear bank, but the distance went up as well.

The two Ajing rods I have (besides the Evergreen) is the Yamaga Blanks 71 TZ Nano and the Major Craft Triple Cross 68(?). The Evergreen is much lighter, stiffer, and sensitive than the other two. I didn’t realize this at the time but the Yamaga Blanks is more flexible and a little more whippy but not whippy. It is hard to describe. The Triple Cross’s action is more similar to the Evergreen but they are still very different. I would say that the Evergreen rod is very “steely”. I will have a better feel for the Evergreen once I get some more time on it.
