I had no clue that those trout were capable of fighting like that, or is it the current??

I take it you’ve never fished for trout? There was some current there but trout are ferocious fighters. They just never quit. They were into 20 inch rainbows....that’s some serious trout.

You are correct, I've never had the chance to target trout. That said, I'm not too far from the Caney Fork. It looks like a blast.

Trout are tailor-made for UL fishing. They love UL baits.

Even the "stockers" in the local ponds are great fighters. River fish are at another level, though.

Start fishing for them, and you might change your name to "trouthoosier".

Once you catch a wild native river trout you will be spoiled. They give an UL a real battle. Rainbows are incredible aerial fighters, they can jump up to 3ft high easily. Name: 20200227_123709.jpeg

[QUOTE=Alphahawk;4007413]He used 1/8 on those trout. They are the real deal...if you are using a high end JDM rod your catch rate will be exceptional. They hit it on the fall....slack line....after you snap it up.

The guy that owns them is not the easiest individual you’ll ever deal with but they sell and I guess that is why he can have a minimum order as he does.

I too looked at the zig jigs but didn’t really want to order 4 dozen... I might be able to tie up something similar... they look like fish catchers for sure
