I think the guy on Rakuten is kind of like a middle man this time... took about 7 days before I was billed because he had to wait to get the rod and find out the price of shipping... was an interesting transaction but it’s the 3rd Corto I have bought from the guy and I am happy... couldn’t find the Corto anywhere else... I know you were asking Stan but I ordered mine a week and a half or a week before he did...

It is an Ajing rod. I would say the two being same length would be very similar....but in my opinion the Corto is the more sensitive rod. It is rigid...but not as rigid as a Blue Current TZ. The blank on the Corto is more refined than on the Triple Cross. It is still in my opinion probably the best bargain in a JDM rod when you look at the blank.....components.....build quality, fit and finish. My 6’ 10” is the rod of choice if I head to Dale Hollow. The bluegill up there are big enough to put up a good fight on that rod...but the reason I take it is to land all the big Smallies you will get into while fishing for the Gills in the spring. If the weather gets right I’ll be taking mine down to Nickajack soon to hopefully get into the female white bass run.

I received an email middle of last week stating they were checking with the manufacturer for stock and thanking me for my patience. It has been 9 days since my initial order. Already looking for a possible alternate rod.

It don’t help any....but I’ve been down that road. Had my eye set on a rod....wanting it here by spring and out of stock. I have never been able to get a full explanation of how they do a production run and then wait for months before doing another run. Hopefully you get it resolved to your liking.

I have that same rod, and pair it with the 3lb lines (both Ester and PE) on the Diawa Luvias reels. Casting distance, bite detection, and fish handling is excellent. I really like it while bank fishing the creeks because a mixed bag of Temperate Bass and Sunfish is always a possibility. I have literally caught White Bass, Hybrid Bass, and Striped Bass on the rod in one afternoon trip. Pushing its limits...maybe, confidence in the rod helping to protect the line and land the fish.... pretty high, and overall fun factor is just awesome. What I am looking for in the Corto 7.4 is a little more sensitivity, a little more backbone, and a rod I can string up some 4lb Braid, cast 1/16 oz jigs, and mainly use while boat fishing when fishing a little deeper in the warmer water temperatures.

Randy, I get into some fantastic redear/shellcrackers up here on Lake Barkley. Many of these fish are 12-13in fish that flirt with 1.5-2lb. These things pull like a morning train!
I know that you love to fish for those big shellcrackers on Nickajack and do quite well. What is your favorite shellcracker JDM rod?? Thanks in advance.
PS..I don't know if my little area stage Tenryu Rayz Alter will stand up to the really big male redear. I think the Finetail SUL will...? I wonder if I should look at a Tict Ice Cube Finesse rod??
On shellcracker I love using the Major Craft Banshee rods in the 6 SUL and the 67 L model.....the 2018 Fine Tail 63 Area Stage SUL....and also the Palms Egeria Area XUL 64 rod. These rods are just a whole lot of fun. The Major Crafts are fast enough to handle even big shellcracker. The Palms is a tad soft compared to the Major Craft rods but it is just a lot of fun to fish with. The Ice Cube is also a lot of fun but I use it when I am after crappie. I think it makes and excellent sunfish rod but I have gotten to where I really prefer the shorter rods for the shellcracker and bluegill.
