Sliding guides are an acquired taste. They've been around for a LONG time and are common in the rest of the world. Their purpose is to have a rod "rigged and ready to go" in the smallest package possible. You can do the same thing with multi-piece rods, but it's not as easy.

I have two rods with the sliding guides. They are not JDM ultralight, though. They are both Euro float rods. I've landed carp well into the teens on the "light" one.

The entire top section of the rod was not in the case. I've emailed Digitaka 3 times over the course of the past 5 day's and received an automatic response each time saying they would respond within next opening hour but as of today I have not gotten any response. I guess if I don't hear from them by Tuesday which will be a week I'll be forced to file a dispute with paypal . I've bought quite a bit of equipment from them in the past and never had a problem . If anyone has had a problem , how long did it take to get a response? Scott
Ultraslab, I emailed Digitaka yesterday so I will be patient and wait at least a week for a response. I have been extremely please with their customer service so far. I contacted them twice about combining two orders together to avoid paying for shipping. Although they never actually replied to my email, they did combined my orders and reimbursed me for the shipping difference. Maybe, they are working on resolving your issue in the background. Who knows. Meanwhile, I am also going to contact Major craft directly to see if I can order a replacement tip. It looks pretty easy to replace since there is an opening at the bottom of the rod designed for maintenance etc ... Hope this help!

    Excellent news.

That Plat sale sure did go fast! I was thinking of grabbing something, and poof - gone. You really do have to jump fast on those sales!

Anyone using one of the Major Craft Ajing or Mebaru rods in 7.5 to 8ft ultralight or light?

Would like to hear how it performs, thinking of maybe the MC N-One series UL at 7'9 or 8ft for throwing micro jigs a long ways or nymphs with an indicator? Maybe pair it up with the new Daiwa Luvias 2000S using 3lb line.

I owned and used an Major Craft X-Ride for a couple of years...my nephew now has it as a rod for casting Zig Jigs for trout. When he fishes with others using that method he far out fishes them. They hit that jig on the fall after you pop it up...the rod gives him a big advantage with the sensitivity. It is a fantastic rod...and I think StanTheMan has one also. The N-One line will be similar but the X-ride has the better blank...titanium guide frames. Don't expect an 7' 5" or 8 foot ajing rod to take any pressure off your line though....pretty rigid rod even at that length. Now the longer mebaru rods will do that much better...they will be quite a bit softer. I still use an Blue Current TZ 8' 3" TZ long Cast for float fishing for trout....but I only use nylon line with it. I don't think you will be disappointed with the N-One but I would check to see if you can find some X-Rides somewhere.

Hey Mtn Fisher, I have the Majorcraft X Ride Ajing rod in the 7.6 length. It is very rigid, and will cast a 1/16oz jig with a piece of Crappie Plastic on it a country mile. I pair this rod with the Diawa MX LT in the 2000 size spooled with 2lb Nanofil. Add a pear shaped rattling float( for shallow fishing) and it will cast two country miles. My favorite way to utilize this rod is vertical fishing deep. I have reiterated on here many times this combination will flat snatch the Crappie out of deep brush and put them in the boat quick. The sensitivity of the braided line paired with the sensitivity of the rod, if they even sniff my jig they find themselves in for a ride to the house!! For general cast and retrieve of lighter jigs, 1/32, 1/48, and 1/64 I have other weapons. When I need a little more rigid and heavier action, I break out the X-Ride. Name: Adjustments.jpg
