I’ve thought about it but don’t really have the space to do it. It would be nice though. D10’s bending curve setup was much nicer than what I did in a video. While I tried to hold the rod in same location it wasn’t exact.

You would only have to photograph the tip section, but without the butt section you would lose a lot of the information you would want to have. The photo below shows fixed line rods rather than spinning rods but the basic concept is the same. All four rods were held at exactly the same spot, at exactly the same angle. Differences in the stiffness of the blanks in the lower part of the rods had a huge difference in the overall bend profile. (Unfortunately, I no longer have even that much blank wall so I cannot now take comparison photos like that one.

Ultralight JDM Fishing Gear
That’s exactly what I was trying to illustrate. I love the backdrop. I will have to attempt again with a backdrop like that.

Stepped out of my wheel house today. I had told myself that all future JDM rods would all be high end......I guess you’ll have to call me a liar on that part. After much research I ordered a “New” Fine Tail Area Stage Super Ultra Light Rod....the 6’ 3” model. If my research is correct this rod will come in at a little under 2 ounces. I just had to try it. While Major Craft Japan has not said the Banshee is being discontinued there are none to be had. According to a Major Craft UK video the “New” Fine Tail is their new flagship trout rod. Going to be an interesting rod. It has stainless frames with Fuji Sic-s inserts and from my info there will be 8 or 9 guides on the rod. For this rod to weigh under 2 ounces the blank must be something to behold. Will give full review.....good or bad....when I get it. If it is as good as I think...for the money.....I plan to order the 6’ 4” Glass model.....which is really stepping out of my wheel house....LOL.

Good for you enjoy! Remember some of us are fishing with you when you go(when watching your videos)haven’t been in a long while but do have a new triple cross and presso reel waiting!Did you get your noise sedated?thanks
Thanks.....I bought the Rode Wireless Micro but had to send it back. This is the 3rd model of that mic and they still don’t have it right. For 200 bucks it should be right. That Presso reel is awesome.

Anyone have experience with any of the few telescopic JDM UL rods out there? Daiwa Wise Stream and Abu Troutin Marquis are the 2 I've had my eye on.
Took my new Corto 612L with me on a trip to the east coast last week (I'm a socal guy) and while it was a pleasure to fish, I felt myself wishing I had something that I could make compact while keeping it rigged up.

The Daiwa Wise Stream 50TUL is surprisingly stiff for an ultralight rod. The telescopic nature also means that the entire rod would have to be sent back to Japan for repair if you break any of the sections other than the tip section. For multi-piece rods you can just order a replacement part. It has been a popular rod but is not my favorite. For a travel rod, I much prefer the 4-piece Tenryu Rayz Integral RZI50UL-4, although that rod is quite a bit more expensive.
No experience with the Troutin Maiquis.
Major Craft Finetail Banshee FTA 602 SUL listed in the Personal Classified Forum. Rod is just too parabolic for my liking.
